Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) in collaboration with the Supreme Legislation Committee of Dubai, has launched the Women-Specific Legislations Lab that seeks to develop new legislations to support the enhanced socio-economic participation of women in the emirate. The initiative, launched on the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day, will address various aspects related to women’s development including their active inclusion in society, personal status law, women in the economy, the protection of women, and health and wellbeing.

President Sheikh Khalifa has called for Emirati women to occupy 50 per cent of the country's Federal National Council after next year's elections. The directive was issued through the UAE Government Communication Office on Saturday, saying the decision would "further empower Emirati women and bolster their contributions to development".

The Board of Directors of the Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) held a meeting to review the organisation’s 2017-2021 strategic plan. The plan is focused on promoting the skills of Emirati women, and enhancing their capabilities, in line with the UAE’s strategic priorities.

The Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) on Tuesday kicked off the Fourth Arab Women Leadership Forum on the theme ‘Towards Global Competitiveness’. The forum was launched in the presence of and under the royal patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
