22 sessions highlighting
15 female Emirati role models

‘Qudwa’ was launched by Her Highness Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in August 2017, in celebration of Emirati Women’s Day. ‘Qudwa’ – the Arabic term for ‘role model’– offers a platform to inspire female Emirati role models to share their knowledge, skills and experience with other women across the nation in order to encourage excellence and leadership in all fields.

The role models, who have distinguished themselves through their contributions to society, share their expertise with senior university students, professionals, and new employees through three dedicated platforms:

Knowledge Sharing
Sessions

Aimed at university seniors, during which role models teach Emirati women about their professional journey, the challenges they had to conquer, and their early career strategies.

A Working Day with Your
Role Model

Emirati women spend an entire working day with role models, learning how to be effective at their workplaces, gaining insight into the core competencies and skills required in varied jobs.

Meet Your Role Model

Emirati women have the opportunity to attend an informal meeting with accomplished national icons to discuss success stories and experiences, as well as provide professional guidance to female prospects in the workforce in order to develop a sense of social responsibility, and instill the value of giving to new generations.

Objective

To build a brighter future and highlight the progress of Emirati women and their vital contribution to the prosperity of society.
