50% Female Representation in the Federal National Council

Launched in 2018

As per a directive by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan,President of the UAE, Emirati women’s representation in the FNC is to increase to 50%.

Objectives

  • To further the contribution of Emirati women in decision-making.

Scope

The 50% representation of women in UAE’s Federal National Council illustrates the country’s future approach aimed at achieving the full potential of Emirati women, their effective participation, and equal opportunities for leadership at all decision-making levels.
